After a successful takeoff from La Gomera, you can follow our progress live on
The World's Toughest Row is a race that will take us from La Gomera, Spain 3000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean towards Nelson's Dockyard, Antigua. In a 10-meter long rowing boat, we'll pack enough food to survive self-supported for the next 60-70 days (>1.8mln calories) . We'll battle sleep deprivation, hallucinations, hunger (hard to imagine given the amount of food, we know), but it will be the toughest mental and physical challenge of our lifetimes.
Apart from incredible marine life, sunsets that can't be witnessed from land, camaraderie, achievement and self-discovery, we take on this challenge to support a larger mission.
Trillions of pieces of plastic pollute our oceans today, and the problem is worsening. This plastic has a devastating impact on marine wildlife and ecosystems. Plastics can persist for many decades, continuously degrading into microplastics. These can be ingested by wildlife and later enter the human food chain. Plastic pollution is a global crisis requiring urgent action. Help us fight this battle today.

After a rainy session where she lost grip of her oar, making her team lose, Marlien was sold. She wanted to row! Now six years later Marlien has rowed on both Dutch canals and the Thames. Marlien loves to exersice outdoors and most of all: together.
She works as a trainer and coach in personal development.
She’s going to be a great member of #teamTADO 😁

For the past few years Ryan has been competing in Triathlons, from Sprint distances up to the Ironman which he completed earlier this month ( in a not too shabby time either -well done @rperrin28 🙂)
Ryan says training for a full Ironman event was difficult but enjoyable. He knows that training for this multi-week adventure will be his greatest test but one he can’t wait to get started on.

10 years after hearing Sally's story, during a new year's drink with team member Marlien in a Dutch cafe, The World's Toughest Row came up again. This time she felt ready to take on the challenge. Six months later #TheAngloDutchOars and a @worldstoughestrow starting spot are a fact.
